Tail Waggers,

I have returned after what I'm sure was an agonizing absense for all of you to endure. No fear, the ma and I have discussed our blogging situation, or shall I say lack of blogging situation, in depth and I feel confident in saying I now have her word that she shall dedicate at least some of our precious time to MY blog!

So, I have some tantalizing updates for all of you. First on my agenda is to make an announcement. In light of recent events, of which I shall describe following this statement, the ma is now going to be referred to as "Foodstuffs Giver." And now I will explain why, as it has to do with my previously mentioned pressie!

Foodstuffs Giver coyly informed me the week prior to now that I would be recieving a kind of present. This 'present,' she remarked, was to be something of a good and bad nature, and she rudely left me with only that small bit of somewhat obscure information.

I now know what this so called 'gift' was. Foodstuffs Giver has a boyfriend. I like him, he's alright, seems ok, doesn't smell too off. While, about 2 years ago Foodstuffs Giver found a Yellow Lab on the interstate (we all know Aussies rule, but what can ya do), and Foodstuffs Giver picked her up. To make a long story short, Foodstuffs Giver had to give 'Lola' to her boyfriend, as he lives on a farm and this so-called 'Lola' likes her exercise!

Continuing: Foodstuffs Giver's boyfriend, we'll call him HeWhoPlaysWithMeIfILetHim, told Foodstuffs Giver he wanted to let this dog, 'Lola', come live with Foodstuffs Giver and I for the winter. Foodstuffs Giver RUDELY accepted and went frolicking to go pick her up. Well, HeWhoPlaysWithMeIfILetHim had a secret plan all worked out. He was NOT in fact giving up his precious 'Lola' for the snow season, but asking Foodstuffs Giver an important question, to which she said "Yes." [And here I thought it was going to be a furry clawed creature, phew, no cats.]

Hm. Now I have to share my Foodstuffs Giver and myself with a boy and a lab? There shall be musings about this in the future. For now I shall say the mood seems to be contently happy in our home. Alas, the ma is now known as Foodstuffs Giver because of her almost betrayal of The Shadie. Hmph!

Sorry our post today was a bit exaggerated in length.

Also, I shall be viewing and posting comments on all of my friend's blogs mid-evening today and tomorrow afternoon!

The Ma has gone lazy! And a present?

Hello Tail Waggers-

I'm currently not speaking to the ma. She has been upsettingly slack in helping me blog this week. Firstly, she switched the schedule I worked oh so very hard on, secondies she has disreguarded the blog in order to complete this stuff called "It's important college homework, Shadie" and now she informs me that I may be getting a present next week.

Nows, I know you're thinking "But Shadie, presents are good you silly Aussie," but ma said that magical word in a way that conveys to me that this particular prezzie is more for her benefit than mine, which can only mean I might not be very happy.

So, furry folks, I leave you with that picture of me, appoligizes for my ma's horrible and seemingly unforgivable behavior, and the idea that when we start our regularily scheduled blog program next week, I may be discussing this new gift, if I like it.

Fellow Tail Waggers-

Ma messed up in this weeks itinerary, and as you may have noticed this post was of my kitchen creation, not a walkie video. We swapped Thursday's activity for today's! So, today shall be deemed Culinary Delight, whilst Thursday shall be my Out'N'About day!

Ma and I made Cookie Samiches! Mmmmm! They were actuallys called "Graduation Good Dog Goodies." I start obedience classes in 2 weeks, so we thought the recepie was fitting, even thoughs I not graduatin' yet!

Ma can give anyone the recipe who wants it. She picked up a doggie treat book at our trip to Petco last week, and the recipe was in theres!

Well, fellow Tail Waggers, the ma told me tonight, after we had a lovely dinner together, that she was going to brush my teeth. And this is what I told her:
For those of your not so fluent in Aussie speak:"I sleep in the same bed as you, bub, you sure you wanna try and brush my toofs?"
And, excuse all my toys, although I don't plan on cleaning them up...anymore!

Alas, a side note, this week my furry friends can expect:
Mumbling Monday: Ma will take the reins and discuss ME!
Tuesday: Out'N'About Tuesday, although I'm not sure what the video footage shall be, yet.
Wednesday: Probably a Wordless Wednesday
Thursday: I shall prepare for you all, a culinary delight!

"Bone" Appetite

This week the ma and I decided to do our first edition of our now weekly cooking segments! Yippie fors me, I get somez homemade treats each week! This week we prepared Apple Cinnamon Drops. Now, keep in mind meh ma is NO baker, in fact she burns frozen pizza, so hopefully each week wez get a little betteh at this! Here is the recipe!

Now Ma, I know I put them apples in this here cripser drawer!

Now ma, you look here at The Shadie, they most certainly are in here!

[She found the apples in the drawer, like I said *pfft*]. Now, here we are with our spread, looks beautiful, 'eh?

Now hold up, I must lick-taste the quality of this honey. *Hm* It passes.

Here I is, checking out what the ma made with all myz ingredients.

Two paws up, ma. Oh, and one has lots of flour on it, cause ma spilled. Sheesh.

Mmmmm, numnumnum, theyz look pawsitively beautiful, ma.

And don't forget kids, always help your ma's and pop's with those dishes, Shadie-style!

Trottin' Around Tuesday

Why hello Tail Waggers!
Today ma and I did our first edition of 'Trottin' Around Tuesday.' We got the idea from our dear friend, Khyra. This video was supposed to be of me steppin' out for my daily walk with ma, but she quickly found out that The Shadie is an expert bug stalker and I had business to attend to.

Thus, we really didn't "trot" very far, but if I kept track of my bug tally correctly, I think I successfully exterminated several grasshoppers and fly-thingies from the area. A job well done, I do pawlieve!

Next week we'll do a segment called "Bugged out Tuesday," since I'd rather show you all just how seriously I take my career.

The ma has allowed me to try out my new pawtastic idea: Giving my favorite dog blogs my very own award! I will pick two blogs a month and give them the award. I sure love spotlighting other doggies hard work, so I thought this would be fun. The dog blogs in the limelight this month are my friends Nanook and Pooka and Secret Schnoodle (their links are located to the left). Congrats guys! Next month I think I'll pick some dogs that enjoy sporting activities and the great outdoors as much as me....

Write About It Wednesday

Hello fellow Tail Waggers!

Well ma thinks it'll be fun if we discuss, each Wednesday, some of the things she buys for me. Ma is a big shopper--me, not so much. This week she had a collar custom made for me. It's a nice brown leather with some light blue rhinestones on it. I'm not really a baby-blue kinda girl, but hey, it's nice. It's kinda big for a little pup like me, so ma also ordered another one in nylon, as the leather one's only get as small the the one I have. The nylon one has not arrived yet--I always tell her to do 2-day shipping, but she never listens, ground is just not reliable! Ma got the collars from Collar Mania, link located to the left!

On a side note, ma says please forgive my scarey eyes in the photos, she really needs a new camera. Hey, I feel offended now, thanks very much!

Hello Fellow Tail Waggers!
My name be Shadie, and my ma is Chantel. I'm a small Toy Australian Shepherd, but I assure you I pack a lot of punch. In fact, ma calls me her "Tomboy," whatever that is. I'm a champion bug chaser, in fact, to ma's dismay I discovered three snakes today. I didn't quite understand why we had to take the long way back home, and why ma was walking awfully fast. Oh well. I also love to roll in stinky things (I especially like to roll on frogs), go swimming, and dig holes.

Ma and I decided to start bloggin' so that we can chronicle my daily happenings. I start my first obedience classes in only a week, and I've got my paws crossed that I'll pass and begin my agility training after that. I sure hope you all enjoy my blog, throw me a bone and leave a comment once and a while too!
